Dermaplaning
Your smoothest, softest face
Dermaplaning is a procedure which is often used prior to the application of make up for special events such as weddings and photoshoots, mainly due to the benefits it provides to the face as a canvas for make-up - after treatment you can expect skin which is softer, free of any build up of dry or dead skin cells, dirt, oil, grease and vellus hair (the fine hair of the face often referred to as “peach fuzz”).
How does it work?
A medical grade, sharp scalpel is passed over the face at a 45-degree angle in order to provide the deepest level of exfoliation to the uppermost layer of the skin, and to remove debris and product build up which, over time, creates the appearance of dull or tired looking skin and causes make-up application to appear ‘cakey’, dry or uneven.
A commonly asked question is whether the use of a scalpel blade for vellus hair removal will cause darker or thicker regrowth of hair on the face - the answer is ‘no’ as this is a common myth, the vellus hair will only regrow within it’s original hair pattern, texture & density however the face will appear much fresher, brighter and ‘cleaner’ as well as creating the perfect canvas for product absorption and make-up application.
There is no downtime for the treatment, there are no side effects and the results can be seen instantly. This treatment can also be combined with Chemical Peels and Microneedling treatments for additional benefits and more long-lasting results.
